We have experience.

We have experience.

We have been in the Antelope Valley for over 30 years. A small, one-doctor practice located on 10th Street West has blossomed into a five-doctor practice at our current location. Our doctors have years of experience and numerous specialties, which allows all your vision concerns to be addressed in one convenient location.

However, at the end of the day, we have never forgotten what brought us here: you. We are dedicated to providing the best in optometric care. Simply put, our patients are our priority.

Hard-to-fit contacts? Try us.

Hard-to-fit contacts? Try us.

We specialize in those so-called "hard-to-fit" contact lenses. Irregular corneas can result from keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, corneal transplants, and post-operative complications. This corneal irregularity can make conventional soft contact lenses difficult, if not impossible, to wear. We have a multitude of lens options, from small hard contacts to large scleral lenses, that will help provide the best acuity possible.

Got kids? Bring them in!

Got kids? Bring them in!

The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends that all children be seen by an optometrist between the ages of six and twelve months. Surprising? Just as babies learn to walk and interact with their surroundings, they learn to see over their first few years of life. Vision problems early in life can cause developmental delays. More specifically, visual conditions such as strabismus and amblyopia can potentially cause detrimental visual effects that are often irreversible. Therefore, it is crucial to monitor visual progress and coordination with comprehensive vision examinations, even at a young age.

One more thing - we don't expect your young ones to tell us what they're seeing, especially when they're learning how to crawl! At Antelope Valley Optometric Center, we have specially-made equipment that will allow us to assess your child's vision without any input needed:

  • Pediatric visual acuity cards, known as the Cardiff Acuity Test, allow us to assess your child's vision without any response - simply by a directional looking.
  • Welch Allyn Spot vision screener uses lights and sounds to engage children, and allows doctors to perform a fun, simple vision screening.

We're tech geeks.

We're tech geeks.

Our lives are driven by technology: smartphones, tablets, and computers galore. At Antelope Valley Optometric Center, we are proud to have the latest technology at our disposal.

  • All records are completely electronic, which makes for more accurate input, quicker referrals, and faster exam times.
  • All examination rooms will soon be updated with new computerized visual acuity charts, in addition to new laptop computers, to aid in efficiency and accuracy.
  • Our Optical dispensary utilizes an iPad application called "Otto", which assists in frame styling, provides patient education, and allows us to make highly accurate measurements.
  • State-of-the-art ophthalmic equipment, such as the iCare® Tonometer and the Spot Vision Screener, help our doctors make quicker assessments that minimize patient discomfort. In other words, no more "air-puff-test!"
  • Once seen in our office, patients can communicate with AVOC via our online portal, and can confirm and request appointments online.

We are proud to have doctors who can take care of your every vision need: ocular disease, dry eye treatment, vision therapy (coming soon!), specialty contact lenses, and glaucoma treatment; just to name a few.

We are proud to have opticians who are educated in the top lens and frame materials available today, and are excited to pass that knowledge and technology onto you.

We are proud to have a staff that is efficient, accomplished, and compassionate.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
